If you are a fan of Missouri College Football, you just got some wonderful news for next season.  A 5 star recruit has committed to the team.

His name is Luther Burden III, and he is from East St Louis.  He stands 6'0" and 200lbs.  He was the number 6 rated prospect in the class of 2022.  He's the second-highest-rated receiver in the country and the top prospect in Illinois and the Midwest. And he is coming to the University of Missouri.  Looks like Connor Bazelak will have a pretty good target to throw to.

Luther had originally committed to Oklahoma, but at his press conference, the hats on the table were Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri.  Considering the success of the two other programs in recent years, it did seem like a long shot to land Burden.

But I am sure Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz is thrilled. "It's been a tremendous emphasis for us to get the best players within the state to play for us," Drinkwitz said last Wednesday. "... We've got to do a great job recruiting our borders and recruiting our state. (The St. Louis) side of the state has got some really good football players."

CBS Sports has a nice write-up on Luther and you can read that article HERE.

I have been to a few games at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium and the crowd really supports their team. This upcoming season should be exciting to watch with this dynamic WR catching passes.   Perhaps this team can close the gap between them and some of the elite schools in the SEC. Welcome to Mizzou Luther!
