Missouri Man Drowns While Swimming Across Big River

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a drowning that occurred southwest of St. Louis on Sunday.

33-year-old Kasey A. Schmeiderer of House Springs was swimming across Big River in Cedar Hill Park around 2 p.m. Sunday when he disappeared below the surface.

The Patrol said his body resurfaced on Monday and was recovered. Schmeiderer was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m. Monday by Medical Investigator Kelly Bryant.

The body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue.

Cedar Hill Fire assisted the eight Troopers on scene.
