Boonville Woman Drowns in Missouri River
A Boonville woman drowned in the Missouri River on Monday.
The MSHP reports that the 33-year-old woman entered the water on foot at 12:46 p.m., Monday in Cooper County near the 200-mile marker and failed to resurface. Her body was discovered near the shoreline about 55 miles downstream from where she entered water on Wednesday morning near Jeff City, and was pronounced deceased at 8:30 a.m., by Callaway County Coroner Trisha Clark.
The woman was reportedly not wearing any type of life jacket.
Involved in the two-day search were Boonville Police, Cooper County Deputies, Boone County Deputies, Cole County Deputies, the Jeff City Fire Department and the Patrol’s Aircraft Division, in addition to five Troopers.
This was Troop F’s first drowning for June, and the second one of 2025.

Editor's Note: The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of accident victims in their reports, after a policy change that was implemented by the Patrol in November of 2024.
