The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State Fair Community College and New Growth Women’s Business Center will host a no-cost Small Business Administration (SBA) government contracting certifications overview 11 a.m. to noon April 6 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 217, on the Sedalia campus and via Zoom web conferencing.

Registration is required.

Government contracting can be a critical tool for growing businesses and increasing profits. While not all businesses are suitable for government contracting, the SBA has several certifications and business development programs to help those who are socially and economically disadvantaged. The overview on April 6 will provide information about the SBA’s programs and government contracting basics.

The presentation will cover government contracting suitability; how the government buys goods and services; how to market a business and identify federal opportunities; small business federal government contracting certifications; and available resources.

To register for this no-cost presentation, go to https://missouri.ecenterdirect.com/events/23590.  For assistance or additional information, contact Kelly Asbury, SBDC director, at kasbury1@sfccmo.edu or (660) 596-7350, or visit sfccmo.edu/thelearningforce. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.

The Missouri SBDC at SFCC is made possible by a funding partnership through the federal Small Business Administration, the University of Missouri Extension and State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce.
