Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Reports for January 28, 2019
A 25-year-old Arkansas man was taken to the Pettis County Jail following an accident last night on US 65 at Sacajawea Rd. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2009 Dodge was traveling northbound in the southbound lane and struck a 2016 Honda. The driver of the Honda, 75-year-old Sharon Rimel of Lincoln, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, 25-year-old Rigeberto Sapo of Blytheville, AR, was arrested for DWI, careless and imprudent driving, and driving without a license.
A Holden man was killed in an accident late Saturday night in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 2007 Jeep Liberty left the roadway on MO 131 and overturned. The driver, 54-year-old Michel Evans, was pronounced dead at the scene just before midnight.
A 26-year-old Kansas City woman was killed in a Johnson County accident on MO 58 on Saturday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 1997 Chrysler was travelling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle went off the roadway and overturned several times, ejecting the driver. Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren pronounced 26-year-old Amanda Sanders dead at the scene just before 6 p.m. A passenger in Sanders' vehicle, 36-year-old Danial Vanartsdalen, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center for treatment.
