A 16-year-old boy ordered to stand trial as an adult in the beating death of a man in Jefferson City is free on bond.

KRCG-TV reports that Zacchaeus Silva was placed under house arrest after posting a $100,000 bond.

Silva is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the April death of 63-year-old Jerry Robertson.

Authorities said an autopsy on Robertson found he had died from blunt trauma from what they suspect was a floor jack handle, much like a pipe.

A possible motive for the killing has not been released.
