Miyoko “Amy” Tajima Bell-Yonce, 83, of Sedalia, died Friday, May 16, 2014.

A celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Born June 15, 1930 in Odawara, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Ichiro and Rin (Kato) Tajima. On December 19, 1951 in Yokohama, Japan, she married Earl E. Bell who preceded her in death on January 24, 2002.

On July 15, 2007, she married Gordon Yonce, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are her sister Taka Miyazaki of Odawara; sister-in-law Bea Cox and husband Tom of Excelsior Springs, MO; son David Bell and wife Suzanne Yurdin of Falls Church, VA; daughter Donna Davis and husband Glenn of Shelton, WA; stepdaughters Ebbe Yonce and husband René Ruepert, and Margie Yonce Rietberg and husband Wilco, and stepson John Yonce and wife Christine, all from The Netherlands; five grandchildren: Veronica Marriott and husband Bill of Sydney, Australia; Charles Davis and wife Kim of Rochester, WA; Amanda Davis of Rochester, WA;
Christopher Bell of Gainesville, VA; and Bradley Davis of Shelton, WA; four great grandchildren: Jaycee and Jesse Miller and Raine and Peyton McNamara; and numerous nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Japan.

She was preceded in death by daughter Marie Rin Marriott and two sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Bell-Yonce was raised and educated in Japan. She was a homemaker and accomplished dressmaker for many years.
