Two people have been arrested in connection to a burglary that occurred near McGirk, MO earlier this week.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says deputies received a report of a residential burglary that occurred at a house near McGirk, MO on Monday.

Upon arrival, deputies processed the scene and located items of interest. Further investigation revealed a suspect who resides in Cole County, MO. Moniteau County authorities contacted Cole County deputies for assistance with the investigation.

Then on Tuesday (July 10), Cole County deputies and the Jefferson City PD stopped the suspect vehicle in Jefferson City. One subject in the vehicle then reportedly fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

Moniteau Co. deputies arrived on scene and took custody of 29-year old Christopher J. Killion, of Jefferson City, and 31-year old Stevie R Kelly, of Centertown, MO.

During the arrest, some items were located in the vehicle that had been reported stolen from the home in McGirk. Other items were reportedly hidden near Eugene, MO and were later seized by detectives with the Cole County Sheriff's office.

Killion and Kelly were both arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary. Killion also had a Cole County warrant for Obstruction of Justice.
