Nine-year-old Girl Located Safe in Illinois

UPDATE: Violet was located safe in Illinois. The suspect is in custody.

An Amber Alert was issued by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Friday morning just after 7 a.m., reference an assault and abduction.

The case originated in St. Clair, Illinois when nine-year-old Violet Charlton was abducted by her non-custodial father, after he assaulted a family member.

Mr. Charlton's black 2006 Dodge Charger was last seen on River City Drive in St. Louis at 4:43 a.m., this morning.

Violet was last seen wearing a teal T-shirt and pink shorts. She is 4'11”, 99 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
