Sedalia Police Arrest Warsaw AMBER Alert Suspect
Sedalia Police arrested a 39-year-old woman after an AMBER Alert was issued Monday night by the Benton County Sheriff's Office for two Warsaw children.
Police say that Carmelita Wilson's vehicle was located shortly after midnight at 16th and Thompson Blvd. in Sedalia. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled. The Sedalia Police Department, Pettis County Sheriff's Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle, which struck a minivan around 12:30. At that point, Wilson was arrested.
Police say that the two children, ages 7 and 9, were located inside the vehicle. The children were not injured, but were taken to the hospital for a checkup. Wilson was also taken to the hospital for injuries she received in the collision with the minivan.
The Sedalia Police Department says that they will be applying for charges of Resisting Arrest, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, 2nd Degree Assault, Driving While Revoked, and Careless and Imprudent Driving.
Benton County will be applying for charges that occured in their jurisdiction.
