The Sedalia Park Board gathered for a short meeting, Thursday evening, at Convention Hall to discuss a lighting project for Vermont Park.

New area lighting will soon be installed at Vermont Park. Four bids were submitted by area companies for the LED lighting materials. The low bid came from SMC Electric, at $13,437.83. According to Sedalia Parks and Recreation Director, Mark Hewitt, the new LED lights will be more cost effective and last for years.

The project should begin toward the end of January and according to Hewitt, the department is expecting completion by June 1. The actual lighting portion will be at the end of the project.

After the bid, from SMC Electric was approved, the Park Board adjourned to closed session.
