Byrdia Lee Hughes, 83, of Sedalia, passed away, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home.  She was born on February 7, 1929, in California, MO, a daughter of James and Dora (Flippin) Murray.   On January 22, 1954 in Kansas City, she was united in marriage to Oliver Hughes, who survives of the home.   She enjoyed sewing, reading and flower gardening.  She loved her family and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Byrdia especially loved going to yard sales with her daughters and caring for her dog, Skeeter. She was a member of Christ & Trinity Lutheran church and The VFW 2591 Ladies Auxiliary.   Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Donna Hughes of Sedalia and Jimmy Hughes and his wife Sandy of Searcy, AR; one brother, William Murray of Sedalia; ten grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Atkinson and two great granddaughters.   Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 5, 2012, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Kim Knowle officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.   Pallbearers will be Paul Neel, Adam Belt, Paul White, Anthony Hughes, Billy Howard and Jamie Barnett.   The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2012. VFW 2591 Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a service at 7:30 pm, during visitation.
