ODonel (Don) Burns, 78, of Sedalia passed away on Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 21, 1937 in Benton County, MO, near Lakeview Heights, the son of Louis and Alice (Patton) Burns.

On September 20, 1958 he was united in Marriage to Sharon Munsterman at Versailles Methodist Church by the Rev. Raymond Rumbo.

Don was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He drove a Ready Mix Truck for 44 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, mushroom hunting, and watching Nascar. His greatest joy was his family. He loved them and loved spending time with them. He loved God, Jesus, his church, and everyone in it.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Mitch Burns and his wife Jane of Sedalia, Brenda Stutler and her husband Dean of Clinton, MO, Lisa Laughery and her husband Tim of Sedalia, and Dr. Jason Burns and his wife Kristi of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a "special brother" Myron Munsterman of Lincoln, MO.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Purl; and two brothers, Arnold and William Burns.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia, with Pastor Duane Duchesne officiating.

Visitation will be at the church on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00.

Burial will be at Brushy Cemetery in Lincoln, MO.

Pallbearers will be Chis Burns, Travis Stutler, Lucas Laughery, Joe McKinney, Josh Noble, and Mike Munsterman.

Honorary bearers will be Matt Burns, Myron Munsterman, Jim Cooney, Charley Hoard, and Lanny Starke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the New Hope Baptist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
