Put on those lederhosen and fill up a stein of beer, Oktoberfest is quickly approaching.

Presented by Grellner Sales, this fund-raiser will feature beer samples, games and prizes and a performance by local country and classic rock band, Dirt Road Addiction. All proceeds from the event will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri.

“Grellner approached us about hosting an Oktoberfest and we thought it was a great idea that could turn into a fun, annual tradition,” said Communications Director Emily Jarrett.

Oktoberfest will be held at Dukes and Boots – which will feature dinner and drink specials during the event. From 6 to 9 p.m., tips given to Dukes waitstaff and bartenders will also be donated to the Club and a 50/50 raffle will be ongoing. Owner Dale Malone is a longtime supporter of the Club and a former Club member himself, Jarrett added.

“The Club has great business supporters in this community and we’re very thankful to Dale and Grellner Sales for championing this fundraiser for us,” she said. “We hope to see a great crowd enjoying themselves for a great cause.”

Oktoberfest will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Oct. 1 at Dukes and Boots. Tickets are $10 at the door and will include 5 free beer samples. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and beer sampling will begin at 6 p.m. The event is all ages but those who wish to participate in beer sampling must be 21 or older.
