One person is dead as a result of two shooting incidents Thursday in Marshall.

On Thursday, Oct. 3 at approximately 11:10 a.m., Saline County 911 Central Dispatch received an emergency telephone call in regard to a shooting at a residence located on South Olson Avenue. Marshall Police officers, Saline County Ambulance District and Marshall Fire Department responded to South Olson to investigate.

Upon officers' arrival, three persons were identified to have injuries from apparent gunshots. Two of them were life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment and one person was transported by Saline County Ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment.

Then at approximately 12:18 p.m., Marshall Police Department received word of a second shooting, which happened at a residence on West Vest Street. The victim of this apparent gunshot walked into Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment.

A 41-year-old man has been identified as a person of interest, Terrell Palmer. At the time of the press release, Palmer had not been located. Palmer is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 170 pounds.

Both shooting incidents have been confirmed to be related.

The Marshall Public Schools were on a soft lockdown and classes were ongoing at the time the shootings were announced.

The name of the deceased will be released pending the notification of the family.
