The Mid-Missouri Outlaws and Lincoln Haymakers squared-off last Sunday (Mar. 17) for their home opener at Mathewson Exhibition Center in Sedalia, Mo. The Outlaws opened up their season with a 31-38 OT loss to the Lincoln Haymakers.

“Lincoln is a good team. The Outlaws have a lot of potential” said wide receiver Terry Dennis. “We are going to make a great contender in the league.”

Quarterback Kyle Middleton threw for 145 yards passing and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Marcus James kept the game alive with a game-tying touchdown with .08 sec left on the clock.

“The team made a lot of little mistakes, but we stepped up and proved we can make big plays happen,” said running back Marcus James. “The catch in the end zone was something that needed to happen to set the momentum for overtime.”

The Outlaws travel to Bloomington, Ill. to take on the Bloomington Edge. The Edge lost their season opener to the Sioux City Bandits. The Outlaws hope to gain the win on the road on Friday. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
