Police Shoot, Wound Man Accused of Firing at Officers

Authorities say police have shot and wounded a fleeing driver who fired at officers after crashing in Kansas City.

Police say the suspect was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition after Tuesday night's shooting. It happened after police attempted to stop the man for a traffic violation. Police say the suspect refused to stop and crashed.

Police say the suspect then fled on foot with officers in pursuit. Police say the suspect shot at the officers, and they returned fire. No officers were hurt. The shooting is under investigation.
