The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an agreement reached by the Staff of the Public Service Commission, the Office of the Public Counsel and Raccoon Creek Utility Operating Company, Inc. (Raccoon Creek) which authorizes Raccoon Creek to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $380,300.

Under the agreement, parties will work to have new rates into effect by Jan. 1, 2017.

The Office of the Public Counsel is a separate state agency which represents the general public in matters before the Commission.

On February 2, 2016, Raccoon Creek filed a sewer rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual sewer operating revenues by approximately $529,557.

A public hearing was held Oct. 5 at the Thompson Conference Center on the State Fair Community College campus, starting with a question and answer session that lasted 75 minutes, followed by official testimony on the record that lasted around 105 minutes.

Current monthly sewer rates for a residential customer in the former service areas of the West 16th Sewer Company (West 16th), W.P.C. Sewer Company (WPC) and Village Water and Sewer Company (Village) and rates as a result of the agreement appear below.

Raccoon Creek serves approximately 521 sewer customers in Pettis County near Sedalia, and in Johnson County near Knob Noster.
