Road Closures Near Sedalia Post Office for Street Maintenance

Some streets near the Sedalia Post Office will be closed for maintenance beginning Tuesday morning.

The Sedalia Street Department will close E. 5th Street between S. Lafayette Ave and S. Hancock Ave, as well as S. Thompson Ave south of 4th Street adjacent to the Katy Depot to through traffic beginning Tuesday morning at 7:00 (April 23).

The City of Sedalia says the closures are to allow for street repairs and maintenance.

Users of the Katy Trail will be detoured around this short section as rails from the KATY rail line crossing these roadways are removed and the area is resurfaced.

According to a press release from the City, residents who routinely park along 4th and 5th Streets in the area are not expected to be affected by the road closure.

The street is expected reopen to through traffic on April 25 at 3:30 p.m.

It was noted that the roadwork is dependent on weather.
