Sedalia Man Faces Charges of Harassment, Resisting Arrest

31-year-old Dexter Erwin Cramer faces charges of 1st degree harassment and resisting arrest after an incident that occurred June 13.

At 11:26 p.m., a road rage incident took place in the 2700 block of South Limit. One motorist was waving a gun at another motorist. The victim told police a large bearded man was driving a Chrysler Town & Country. The victim also gave police a license plate number, which told officers the owner of the vehicle. They later determined it was the son of the owner who was driving the Town & Country.

The Town & Country was later located by police parked outside a residence on South Harrison. Officer Franken witnessed Cramer enter the Town & Country and attempt to leave the area. Cramer was instructed to stop & exit the vehicle, which he did not. The officer then pulled Cramer out of the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs.

Cramer appeared intoxicated and smelled of alcohol, according to a probable cause statement filed June 16. A search of the Town & Country yielded two shooter bottles of alcohol in the vehicle, as well as a BB gun under the driver’s seat.

Cramer was taken to the SPD, where a sobriety test was administered. He provided a breath sample, but was below the legal limit.

A warrant for Cramer's arrest was issued June 17 by Judge Sawyer.

He was booked and released June 21 after posting a $5,000 bond.

It was discovered that Cramer had no previous convictions for unlawful use of a weapon, harassment or resisting arrest.

He was involved, however in a high-speed chase in early March.
