“Amir will definitely bring energy to FAU,” said former head coach Kevin Thomas. “He can rebound and block shots and is a great fit for this team."

Smith helped the Roadrunners to an 11-19 record in his only season at SFCC. He averaged 11.8 points per game, which placed him third on the team. He scored a season-high 29 points against Westminster JV and 21 against Indian Hills Community College.

He had a team-high average of 8.6 rebounds, which placed him fourth in school history in rebounds per game and 49th in the country. Smith pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds against Westminster JV and Olive-Harvey College.

Smith also led in blocked shots per game with 3.6, which ranked second in the country.

“He was one of our most consistent players,” said Thomas. “He started nearly every game. Amir bought into his role on the team, and I wish him all the best."

Smith was named to the NJCCA All-Region 16 Division I men's basketball first team and to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference first team.
