Smith-Cotton High School senior goalkeeper Wesley Morrison has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.

Over his S-C Tigers soccer career, Morrison, the son of Kirsten and Jim Morrison, scored 14 goals with four assists while notching 24 shutouts in goal.

A three-time letterman and two-year team captain, he was the 2020 Central Missouri Activities Conference goalkeeper of the year, also earning CMAC All-Conference recognition, along with being named the All-District co-goalkeeper of the year, All-Region and Second Team All-State. During his junior year (2019), he was named to the Ozark Independent All-Conference, All-District and All-Region teams, and as a sophomore (2018) he was an Ozark Independent All-Conference and second team All-District selection.

SFCC Men’s Soccer Head Coach Jaime Beltran expects Morrison to assert himself in goal and with his new Roadrunners teammates.

“We are hoping he will bring us some experience and leadership since he has been playing the position for a long time,” Beltran said. “The times I have seen him play, I know he commands his box well and leads his defense."
