Sacred Heart School Honors Veterans
Sacred Heart observed Veterans Day with an all-school assembly on Nov. 12.
Dr. Jim Davis, former SH assistant principal and a veteran of the Vietnam War, served as the official MC for the event. The Sacred Heart Band, in conjunction with the Whiteman AFB Color Guard, presented the colors and played the National Anthem. Braden Bawcom, Captain, USAF, stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, served as the keynote speaker.
Captain Bawcom is a B-2 pilot and father of four children, two of whom attend Sacred Heart. The assembly was concluded with emotional and moving testimonials from local Veterans in attendance.
In the photos: It's show-and-tell time as Dr. Nicholas J. Gray, Missouri State American Legion Chaplain and the local American Legion Chaplain, explains to children in the Little Gremlins daycare about the emblems and insignia on his American Legion hat.
