Sacred Heart varsity softball fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-0 loss to Crest Ridge on Monday.

Crest Ridge took the lead on a groundout in the first inning. Sacred Heart struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Crest Ridge, giving up 11 runs.

A double by Claire Smeltzer in the fourth inning was a positive for Sacred Heart. Emma Schouten was in the circle for Sacred Heart. The right-hander surrendered 11 runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out ten and walking zero.

Smeltzer went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Sacred Heart in hits.

Sacred Heart Softball JV won their contest against Crest Ridge Monday night 16-5. Kiley Beykirch led the JV with 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Olivia Dobson walked 3 times and had 2 stolen bases.

Zoe Martin toed the rubber with 5 strikeouts and only allowed 5 hits over 3 innings.

The Lady Grems were scheduled to play Windsor on Tuesday. The girls play Otterville on the 30th.
