Sacred Heart High School swimmers competed against Smith-Cotton, Lee's Summit and Lee's Summit North in the pool on Tuesday, Jan. 21. 

The Medley Relay of Allie Ferguson, Maia Smith, Arly Ponce and Kate Carney came in 4th out of nine teams.

In the 200 Individual Medley, Allie Ferguson placed 4th out of 13 opponents.

In the 50 free sprint, Arly Ponce took 3rd, Maia Smith took 6th and Kelsey Hudson 12th out of 26 swimmers.

In the 100 free, Kelsey Hudson took 6th out of 19 and cut 2 1/2 seconds off her time setting a personal record. Kate Carney took 4th out of 14 in the 200 freestyle.

In the 100 backstroke, Maia Smith took 2nd and Kate Carney 4th out of 20 in the race.  Maia set a personal record shaving three seconds off her time.

In the 100 Breaststroke, Arly Ponce placed 2nd, and Allie Ferguson 6th out of 18 racers. Arly set a personal record, cutting one second from her time.

Finally, the relay team competed in a distance race, the 400 free, and placed 3rd out of eight teams. The relay team includes Arly Ponce, Maia Smith, Allie Ferguson and Kate Carney.

Sacred Heart swam at the West Central Classic Conference Title Meet at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Sedalia Middle School Pool in Sedalia, according to head swim coach Patti Hegger.

The SH swim team travels to Belton on Wednesday.
