Sacred Heart Swimmers Look Forward to Blue Springs South

After a disappointing disqualification in the medley relay, Sacred Heart fought back to place well in the remaining five events out  the team swam at the Parkview Invitational Saturday in Springfield.

Allie Ferguson placed 15th out of 50 swimmers in the 100 backstroke. On the 50 freestyle, Arly Ponce placed 12th, Kate Carney 13th, Allie Ferguson 25th and Maia Smith 26th out of 90 swimmers.

Arly Ponce placed 14th out of 48 on the 100 breaststroke, and Kate Carney 15th out of 80 on the 100 free. Our free relay team boasted 8th out of 30 teams, were ranked 26th in the state last week, with Maia Smith, Allie Ferguson, Arly Ponce and Kate Carney gaining state consideration for this race.

Next up  for Sacred Heart is Blue Springs South on Tuesday night in Kansas City.
