The Salvation Army of Johnson County needs bell ringers as its annual Red Kettle Campaign is now underway.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer by going to www.registertoring.com. Bell ringers will need to comply with COVID guidelines including face masks. The red kettles will be located at Bi-Lo Country Mart, Walgreens and Walmart in Warrensburg on Fridays and Saturdays leading up to Christmas.

The campaign's theme is "Rescue Christmas." It recognizes the huge impact that the pandemic has had on many in Johnson County who face poverty, hunger and job loss.
"We have seen the requests for rent and utilities increase 50 percent from this time last year," said Karen Eagleson, Family Service Coordinator.

Those wishing to donate online can do so at www.registertoring.com. You may also "round up" your purchases at Walmart by using the manned cash registers or the Walmart app.
