The second season of the Netflix series Ozark will debut on the streaming service on August 31. The show stars Jason Bateman - famous for his roles in Arrested Development, Horrible Bosses, and several other movies and television series (even Teen Wolf Too) - and Laura Linney. It's set in the Lake of the Ozarks, and some of the show was actually filmed there.

Netflix has provided the following synopsis for Ozark Season 2:

In its much-anticipated second season, Ozark continues to follow Marty Bryde and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. With Del out, the crime syndicate sends their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce to town to shake things up just as The Byrdes are finally settling in. Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father Cade has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before and The Byrdes soon realize they have to go all in before they can get out.

Film crews for the show have been spotted in several local residents around the Lake of the Ozarks area, including the Bagnell Dam Strip. Some residents have even caught a glimpse of Jason Bateman.

Ozark is also filmed in Woodstock, Georgia and Lake Allatoona, Georgia, according to IMDB. The 10-episode first season debuted on Netflix on July 21, 2017.
