The Sedalia City Council met Monday night (May 6) at City Hall. One of the main items on its agenda was the approval of a bid to build a new office building for Crown Hill Cemetery. The council approved a bid of $143,215 from JC Meyers Construction Company of Warrensburg, Mo.

The new building which will house the new office and provide the public with an ADA approved bathroom facility to meet federal guidelines. KSIS talked to Crown Hill Cemetery Director Roger Waters about the new building, and he said that if the weather holds, the building will be ready in as little as two months.

In addition to approving the building bid, Mayor Elaine Horn presented a plaque to Ken Norton, longtime city councilman for the 4th ward, at last night's meeting in recognition of his years of service.  Norton is retiring after 28 years on the council.
