Sedalia Parks & Recreation has announced that Liv Jones has been named Lifeguard of the Year in recognition of her outstanding leadership, professionalism and dedication to the safety of the community.

Liv exemplifies the qualities of an exceptional lifeguard—always willing to go above and beyond both on and off the stand. She is the first to step in and help her fellow staff, whether by covering zones so coworkers can take a quick break, providing cool towels on hot summer days, or taking on extra closing tasks to ensure smooth operations.

“Liv doesn’t do extra tasks for recognition—she does them because she cares about her team, our patrons, and the facility,” said [Clara Boehm, Aquatics Manager]. “She is professional, safety-minded, and always puts others first. She is the kind of employee every organization hopes for.”

In addition to lifeguarding, Liv also teaches swim lessons where she is known for her patience, kindness, and ability to serve as a role model for both new guards and swim instructors.
