Water Lantern Fest is this Saturday at Liberty Park
This Saturday April 25 is the date for the very first Water Lantern Festival at Liberty Park, sponsored by Sedalia Parks & Rec.
If you haven’t purchased your lantern yet, cost is $8 now through Thursday. After that, cost goes up to $10 and are available while supplies last.
The lanterns will be released at around 8:15 p.m.
But prior that, there will be three performances at the bandstand by the three finalists in the Sedalia’s Got Talent contest, including:
The Jacomo Band at 6:30, Linda Jo Huber at 7, and Allie Sterling at 7:30.
A winner will then be announced.

There will also be four food trucks on site. In addition, glow sticks will be available for purchase that evening.
Those attending are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.
Special Events and Marketing Manager Savannah Lynde said “We’re really excited to try out this new event with the completion of the beautiful pond. It’s been something we’ve wanted to do for a while and now is the perfect time with the completion.
“Come support the talent and see who’s crowned the winner of Sedalia’s Got Talent. Food trucks will be there as well. Pre-purchase lanterns at the HCC by Thursday. I posted a map on our Facebook page. In the event of inclement weather, the talent show will still happen and be moved inside to Convention Hall. Follow our Facebook page for updates,” Lynde told KSIS.
