A Sedalia man was injured in a crash that occurred Monday on I-70.

According to to the MSHP, 66-year-old Michael Pyne of Sedalia was the driver of an eastbound 2016 Kia Sportage on I-70 in Cooper County at the 90.2 mile marker, when at 1:20 p.m., the driver lost control on a curve, traveled off the left side of the highway and struck the median cables.

Pyne suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, it was noted.

The Kia had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
