Just after 7:00 in the evening on Friday (April 22nd), Sedalia Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 16th Street and South Marvin Avenue. Upon contact with the occupants, one of the men turned out to have an active Benton County warrant for failure to appear, on an original charge of shoplifting. The man was also in possession of methanphetamine and marijuana. 32-year old Matthew W. Wallen was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending state charges for possession of drugs. There was also a $300.00, cash only bond, on the warrant.

 

Around 9:45 in the morning on Friday (April 22nd), officers responded to the 800 block of Manor Court for a reported burglary. Upon contact with the victim, he stated someone broke into the house and took items. There were signs of forced entry. About an hour later, the suspect was located and arrested. 36-year old, Sandra L. French, was taken into custody at the Pettis County Jail, on charges of second degree burglary.

 

Late Sunday evening (April 24th), around 10:00, officers were called to the 400 block of Albright Court on a report of a domestic disturbance between a man and woman. The disturbance turned out to be a verbal confrontation, only. Their information was run through dispatch and it turned out they both had FTA warrants from different cities. The man had warrants from Blue Springs and Oak Grove. While the woman had a warrant from Oak Grove. 35-year old Ronald J. Heistern and 31-year old Sandra K. Turner were arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. Heistern had a bond set at $3,600.00 and Turner had a bond set at $577.00.

 

Around 6:30 in the evening on Sunday (April 24th), Sedalia police officers took a report of a theft that had occurred at Kohl's, located at 4300 Wisconsin Drive. The reporting party stated a woman had concealed items and left the store. The value of the items stolen was placed at $434.00. No further details were listed in that police report.

 

On Saturday (April 23rd), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested Crystal Thomas for an active warrant. No further details were listed in that report.
