Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Miami, Missouri on July 9 after a disturbance at Denny's in Sedalia. According to Sedalia Police, officers were dispatched after Randall W. Failor was asked to leave the business, but refused. Failor is accused of referring to a customer in the business with racial slurs. Failor was taken to the Pettis County Jail for peace disturbance and trespassing.


A 20-year-old Sedalia man was arrested after a traffic stop on July 8 near E. 16th Street and S. New York Avenue. Sedalia Police say a Nissan Altima was stopped for not having a license plate on the front bumper. Dispatch advised that the suspect, Dillon James Lee Hoover, had no driver's license and had an active Sedalia warrant for failure to appear. Police say that marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered during a search of Hoover's vehicle. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A warrant check in the 300 block of E. Jackson Street led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Sedalia Man on July 8. Police say the suspect, Amon Wade Vaughan, was located outside the residence, and he fled into the residence after officers addressed him. He later came out, was identified and arrested. During a search, police reported finding drug paraphernalia. Vaughan was booked into the Pettis County Jail with a no-bond Morgan County failure to appear warrant and a no-bond Pettis County probation violation warrant.


An 18-year-old Sedalia man was issued a municipal summons for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. on July 8 at South Park Avenue and West 32nd Street. Police say a Chevrolet truck was stopped for not having functional license plate lights, and a passenger in the truck, Phoenix Mason Painter Torres, was found to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia.


A 27-year-old Sedalia man was arrested July 7 around 10:35 p.m. after a traffic stop for failure to signal at South Osage Avenue and West 14th Street. A K9 unit reportedly alerted to the vehicle. Police say a passenger, William Harrison Howe III, was found to be in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A Warrensburg woman was arrested by Sedalia Police on July 7 after officers were dispatched to a local business on a shoplifting complaint. Police say Kohl's reported the theft of over $300 worth of merchandise. Officers located the suspect, 36-year-old Patricia N. Moore, later in the day in the 3100 block of W. Broadway. According to a police report, Moore was in possession of opium, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The stolen items were reportedly recovered from the suspect's vehicle. Moore was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A Sedalia man was arrested July 7. Police accuse 33-year-old Caleb B. Hamner of shoplifting from a local grocery store. Hamner was arrested after a short foot pursuit in the 400 block of E. Broadway. Police say he was in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for stealing, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.


Police reported smelling the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle stopped in the 600 block of Marvin Avenue on July 7. According to a police report, officers discovered a canister containing marijuana, a glass pipe, rolling papers, a marijuana grinder and two canisters of a concentrated THC product, commonly known as "marijuana wax," during a search. 25-year-old Samuel David Woolery II was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
