On Sunday morning (March 24), Sedalia Police were contacted by a victim regarding an assault involving a weapon in the 500 block of S. Ohio Ave. Investigation revealed that a man entered a building and pointed a firearm at the victim. The man then reportedly discharged the firearm into the floor before fleeing. No injuries were reported and the investigation continues. No suspect information was available in the report.


On Saturday night (March 23), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of W. 16th Street and S. Grand Ave. A computer check of the driver reportedly revealed he had an active Benton County warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The driver, 21-year old Lucas Q. Bock, was arrested for the warrant and taken to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.


On Friday night (March 22), Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of W. Broadway for a warrant check. Upon arrival, officers met with the suspect, 31-year old Warren A. Downs, who had four warrants. Two warrants were from Benton County, one warrant from Jefferson City and one Sedalia warrant. Downs was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $2,950.00.


On Friday (March 22), Sedalia Police observed a vehicle traveling on S. Kentucky Ave with a registration plate belonging to another vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver and passenger reportedly gave consent to search. Officers reportedly recovered a powdery substance and several pieces of drug paraphernalia. 35-year old Jason Allen Bodenstab was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. Charges of Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia are being requested. No further details were available in the report.


On Thursday night (March 21), Sedalia Police responded to Westlakes Ave Hardware on Thompson Blvd for a subject check. A caller stated a man was inside the store refusing to leave and acting strangely. Officers speaking with the man, officers reportedly located drugs and paraphernalia inside his vehicle. The suspect, 60-year old Bobby Dean Rader Jr., of Sweet Springs, was arrested and placed on a twenty-four hold in the Pettis County Jail.
