Sedalia Police Make One Arrest in Heroin Investigation
Early Tuesday morning (Dec 4), Sedalia Police arrested one person in connection to an ongoing investigation in which large quantities of black tar heroin were being delivered to Sedalia.
Sedalia Police says that patrol officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of W. Broadway and S. State Fair Blvds in support of the investigation.
The driver, Casey J. Whitson, was reportedly obtaining large quantities of black tar heroin in the Kansas City area, and delivering the substance back to Sedalia for distribution.
K9 Unit Charlie gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal drugs within the vehicle. Officers also located drug paraphernalia and vials of steroids.
Authorities say a search of Whitson’s person revealed he was concealing an amount of black tar heroin within his pants that would be consistent with someone distributing the substance.
The drugs were recovered and Whitson was placed on a twenty-four hold in the Pettis County Jail.
State charges for Whitson have been forwarded to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office for review, including:
• Delivery Of A Controlled Substance (Heroin)
• Possession Of A Controlled Substance (Heroin)
• Possession Of A Controlled Substance (Steroids)
• Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
• Driving While Revoked
