Sedalia Police arrested 29-year-old Andre L. Jones of Sedalia in the 1200 block of E. 11th just before 11:30 p.m. Friday after officers received a trespassing call. One male was injured by another during an altercation, according to a report. Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with 3rd degree assault. The victim was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
Sedalia Police took a report from a man who said his girlfriend came to his house to see their children on Feb. 12. After visiting, she stole his checkbook and wrote two checks totaling $500. An investigation is under way.
Sedalia Police were called to a domestic disturbance on Wednesday afternoon in the 2400 block of West Main. A suspect was located outside and he ran from police upon their arrival. 30-year-old Timothy L. Peck of Sedalia was quickly apprehended and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Peck was charged with resisting arrest and 3rd degree domestic assault. He was also wanted on three warrants. His court date was to be announced.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a car with no headlights at 7th and Massachusetts around 10:45 p.m. Friday night. According to a report, 24-year-old Christopher Sanchez of Sedalia was found to be in possession of a firearm and 23 Alprazolam pills. Sanchez was taken into custody and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.
On Wednesday night just before 11:30 p.m., a woman reported that she was punched in the face twice by assailant while she was walking in the 700 block of Lafayette. He hit her from the side and she didn't see her attacker's face.
On Wednesday night around 7 p.m., Sedalia Police were called to a disturbance with a weapon involving a male and female in the 900 block of West 2nd. It was determined that the female was the primary aggressor, and 33-year-old Jaime Lee Campbell of Sedalia, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold. She was charged with 2nd degree domestic assault.
On Sunday morning, Sedalia Police arrested 41-year-old Jason T. Milburn of Sedalia after an officer recognized a vehicle connected to a burglary case and conducted a traffic stop at Marshall and Broadway. According to a report, the suspect admitted to the burglary, and Milburn was taken into custody. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, and charged with 2nd degree burglary and stealing. His court date is TBA.
On Friday afternoon, 58-year-old Robin Rufener of Sedalia turned herself in on an FTA Municipal warrant. The $60 bond was paid and she was released with a March 25 court date.
On Friday morning, the owner of Bud's Laundromat reported a $65 theft from the business, located at 301 South Engineer.
On Feb. 11 at 11:52 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights at Mitchell and Leroy Vandyke Drive. The officer detected the odor of marijuana and a subsequent search yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Arrested were 18-year-old Anthony Rojas and 17-year-old Richard Ryan Craig, both of Sedalia.
