Sedalia Police reports 1-2-19

On Tuesday, a Sedalia man reported that on Monday around 2 p.m., he was approached by a Hispanic male wielding a knife while he was in the parking lot of Woods Supermarket, 701 E. Broadway. The suspect opened his door and the victim sped away. The identity of the suspect or his motive was not known.

Sedalia Police arrested 40-year-old Danielle R. Winterland of West Plains for shoplifting in the Thompson Hills Shopping Center, 3115 W. Broadway on New Year's Eve around 4:40 p.m. She was found to be in possession of over $200 of property from several businesses. She admitted to the crime and was arrested, according to the a report. Winterland was also in possession of three types of prescription medications, which were controlled substances. She was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Sedalia Police arrested 31-year-old Johnny Bruce Hill, Jr., of Sedalia on New Year's Eve at 7:43 p.m. at 11th and Center after a traffic stop for failure to signal. Contraband was in plain sight, according to a report, and a subsequent search yielded methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Hill was taken into custody and was also charged with delivery of a controlled substance and felony possession of a controlled substance.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 28-year-old Anthony D. Gower of Ellsinore on a Carter County warrant for child neglect at 108 South Pacific on New Year's Day at 8:11 a.m. Gower was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.


 

On New Year's Eve, Sedalia Police responded to a call of a juvenile struck by a vehicle in the roadway in the 600 block of W. 5th. The juvenile was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of moderate injuries.


 

On New Year's Eve, Sedalia Police were called to WalMart, 3201 W, Broadway, for a disturbance. Upon reviewing security footage, it was discovered that two suspects spray painted the floor in the hardware aisle.


 

On Tuesday at 5:08 a.m., Sedalia Police arrested Deandre A. Laney in the 600 block of South Moniteau on a probation violation.


 

On Tuesday at 9:45 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 32-year-old Aubrey Kay Burks of Sedalia on a Pettis County warrant in the 100 block of South Quincy. Burks was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $125 cash bond. She now has a Jan. 14 court date.


 

On New Year's Eve just after 9 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Broadway and Grand on a vehicle with an expired temp tag. A computer check revealed that 30-year-old Denaysha Robinson of KCMO was driving while suspended. She was taken to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a citation with a Feb. 12 court date.


 

On New Year's Eve at 7:22 p.m., Sedalia Police took a report from a woman in the 600 block of West 5th who said that someone attempted to enter her 2004 Toyota Camry, and damaged the two front doors as a result.
