On the afternoon of July 18th, Sedalia Police responded to the Wal Mart store in the 3200 block of West Broadway in reference to a theft. Management advised that a suspect from a theft on the 14th of July was now in the store and Management suspected she was stealing again. Management attempted to make contact with the female, but she was uncooperative. Police then tried stopping her in the lot, but she fled the scene in her vehicle. During the course of this, the suspect had a small child with her. The female was identified through investigation, and state charges of Stealing, Child Endangerment and Resisting Arrest are being pursued. The Children's Division will also be alerted to the incident.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the 900 block of West Broadway in regards to a vehicle parking in a driveway. The vehicle was a rental vehicle, loaned to an individual that was already contacted by Police. The vehicle had sustained damage which was documented at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and the value of the damage was set at $1000.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of West Broadway for a subject check Wednesday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers met with an elderly subject who stated he didn't know where he was, nor did he know where his vehicle was. It was found that the subject had dementia and had been involved in an accident earlier in the day. The subject was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical treatment.


 

Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room Wednesday afternoon in response to a found bicycle. The bike was taken to the Police Department to be held for safekeeping.


 

Wednesday evening, Sedalia Police responded to the intersection of Hancock Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard in regards to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the subject began to panic and fight against EMS and Police while in the ambulance. The subject was restrained and taken to the Bothwell Regional Health Center. Drugs were found in the subject's vehicle and charges are being submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Thursday morning, Sedalia Police responded to the Eagle Stop in the 3400 block of East Broadway in reference to a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officers met with Paula Martin, who stated her vehicle was struck while parked on the lot. Martin's vehicle had minor damage to the front driver side bumper and fender. Investigation into the  case is ongoing.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Police Station Lobby for a report of a theft Thursday morning. Upon arrival, Officers met with Candace Kaye Phipps, who stated that while she was at Centennial Park pool yesterday, someone stole her walker, which contained prescription pills.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of West 16th in reference to an accident Thursday morning. A vehicle ran off the road and into the fencing of the Fairgrounds before leaving the scene.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center in regards to a disturbance at the front entrance Thursday morning. Upon arrival, Officers identified the suspect of an assault of a staff member. Jared R. Hayes, 22, of Jefferson City, was arrested at the scene for Assault in the 4th Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

After noon on Thursday, Officers responded to the area of Broadway Boulevard and Moniteau Avenue in reference to a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim and witnesses, who stated a southbound passenger car collided with the victim's vehicle and then fled the scene of the crash. A witness followed the suspect vehicle and was able to obtain it's license plate information. The suspect vehicle also left it's front license plate behind at the scene of the crash. A good description of the driver was gathered, and the case remains under investigation.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West 10th Street for a report of a subject who was attempting to enter a home which didn't belong to him Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, Officers met with the subject, who seemed to be under the influence of illegal narcotics. It was determined for the safety of the subject to place him into protective custody. Roger W. Lindsey Jr, 35, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Thursday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft that occurred in the dorms of the State Fair Community College. Francisco X. Rojas Zankys reported that on July 13th he noticed his passport and F-1 visa were missing from his room.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Liberty Pool in the 1600 block of West Third Thursday night in reference to a theft. Lauren Martin stated that earlier in the day, someone opened her backpack and accessed her debit card from a purse to make an unauthorized withdrawal. Martin was made aware of the withdrawal through a fraud alert from her bank. The investigation is ongoing.


 

Thursday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of the 2000 block of West Broadway for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Erin Lyn Dilthey, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Dundee Avenue Thursday night in reference to a domestic assault that occurred earlier in the evening. Both subjects were identified and the case is under investigation.
