Monday evening, Officers responded to the 300 block of East Main to investigate suspicious activity.  During the investigation, a suspect was taken into custody while trying to exit the building through a rear window. Eric A. Monsess, 51, Homeless, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges for Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Stealing, and Property Damage.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were called to the 300 block of West Main Street in reference to a vandalism.  Upon investigation, Janie Miller reported that she had gone outside and noticed their 2010 Ford pickup had been vandalized. It's believed the incident occurred at their residence in the 1200 block of East 7th between 5:00 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.  The damage was to the passenger side of the vehicle from the bed of the truck to the front quarter panel, where two parallel lines of white were noted.  It appeared as if someone had passed by the truck and scraped along the side of it. There are no known suspects and the value of the damage is not known.


 

Officers were checking the area of the Sedalia Wal-Mart Monday morning just after 8 a.m., when they observed a suspect in the area and saw where he had a possible warrant for Parole Violation. After making contact with the suspect, dispatch confirmed the no-bond Parole Violation warrant and Timothy D. Jackson, 40, of La Monte was taken into custody. Jackson was transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1100 block of South Carr in regards to an assault no longer in progress Monday morning.  Officers arrived on the scene and spoke to the victim and witnesses. The victim was seen by PCAD for their injuries but declined further medical attention.  The suspect is being referred to the Juvenile Office.


 

On the afternoon of May 28th, Officers were called to Buckner Court for a report of a disturbance.  The caller stated that her ex-boyfriend broke into her house and assaulted her.  The suspect was gone prior to the Officer's arrival.  Charges of Domestic Assault and Burglary are being submitted.
