Sedalia Police Reports for September 30, 2024

On the morning of September 16th, Officers were dispatched to a local park at 1500 West 3rd Street regarding a subject causing a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers spoke with suspect, and through investigation it was found he had been trespassed from all city parks. James Thomas Myrick Jr., 48, Homeless, was arrested for Trespassing and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
Sunday evening, Officers responded to the area of South Harrison Avenue and Magnolia Street to investigate a report of assault. The victim had minor injuries and was able to name the suspect. James D. Kohrs, 44, Homeless, was arrested for a charge of Harassment in the 1st Degree and felony Assault in the 3rd Degree. Kohrs was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was missing a headlight and the front bumper. Investigation revealed the male driver’s privileges were revoked in the State of Missouri. Jose Raul Gonzalez, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Revoked.
Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway boulevard in regard o a male subject stealing items. The suspect was also wanted regarding a theft at the same location the night before. John William Johnson, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing and Burglary in the 1st Degree.
Sedalia Police responded to the 1600 block of Liberty Park Boulevard in reference to a theft. Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez Lopez stated a bicycle was stolen from a residence. The bicycle has not been located at this time, but a report was made of the incident.
Friday night, Officers responded to the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue regarding a motor vehicle crash. A female driver was identified, and had a suspended driving status in Missouri. Olivia Nichole Head, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 400 block of East 13th Street regarding a warrant check. Head was identified, and discovered to have an active Failure to Appear warrant for their arrest on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended. Head was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Head was booked in and given a cash only bond of $60.00.
Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of the 3300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a traffic accident. On arrival, Officers located one of the vehicles and spoke with Robert Edward Vansell. A report has been submitted.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Saturday afternoon in regards to found property. The property was located by Jakob Adam Reynolds Williams in the area of 3rd Street and South Engineer Avenue. Officers attempted to make contact with the owner of the property. The property was placed into safekeeping.
Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department lobby to speak with Diana S. Mosier. Mosier wished to report an assault that occurred earlier in the day at a hotel located at 3909 West 9th Street. Officers gathered information and completed a report.
Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a male subject having suicidal thoughts. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the involved parties, and a report was completed.
Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to retail store located at 3201 West Broadway boulevard in reference to shoplifting report in progress. On arrival, Officers made contact with Asset Protection, who had detained the subject in the store. Schasse Flora Jirjis, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Shoplifting and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jirjis was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.
Saturday evening, Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of West 10th Street to attempt to locate suspects involved in a theft that occurred at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The subjects were located, with one of them found to have a warrant for their arrest. Justice Kai Travis Workman, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Workman was transported to the Petits County Jail to be booked, pending a $500 cash only bond. The other suspect, Morgan E. Harms, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested for Burglary in the 1st Degree and Stealing. Harms was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Harms was later issued a $500 cash only bond, with a stipulation not to return to the business.
Sunday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of South Osage Avenue. Clarissa Ann Trevino, 20, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Driving While Suspended and released on scene.
Friday night, Officers responded to a local park in the area of West 14th Street and South Vermont Avenue. Officers were sent to investigate reports of an apparently unresponsive male lying on the ground that was involved in a disturbance. The investigation was conducted, and no victims could be identified at this time. A general information report was generated to document the incident.
Friday evening, Officers took a report of a stolen wallet over the phone. Elizabeth Carter reported her wallet was stolen with contents inside while she was at a business in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue. One of the victim’s debit cards was fraudulently used at a business in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue.
Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East 14th Street for a report of a verbal disturbance. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the parties involved, and a report was completed.
Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a theft report. Officers spoke with the business owner, Terry Arnold, and submitted a report.
Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a discount store in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an individual trespassing on the business property. Ashley Marie Milano, 25, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Trespassing in the 1st Degree and Possession of a Concealed Prohibited Item into a Correctional Facility. No further information was available in the report.
Sedalia Police responded to a report of theft in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on Friday evening. The complainant stated the suspect had stolen $54.83 worth of merchandise from the business. Shelbi A. Smith, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Smith was released on scene with a court date and a summons.
Officers responded to the 600 block of North Stewart Avneu4e for a report of a domestic disturbance. An intoxicated male subject was arrested for felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Francisco Martinez Moreno, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. The report notes the victim was not medically treated.
On September 23rd, Officers were advised of a warrant that had “been an issue for a female”. The suspect was arrested that afternoon at a storage unit located at 1526 West Main Street. The original incident was recorded in documentation on April 29th, of 2023. After a series of hearings, the suspect submitted an Alford Plea in January of 2024 on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspect was then sentenced to 5 years’ probation. That probation was violated in September of 2024. A Parole Violation warrant was issued with a cash or surety bond of $25,000. The suspect had another warrant for their arrest on a misdemeanor charge of Stealing. That warrant was issued on September 26th. The incident in question occurred on September 13th. A restaurant in the 5000 block of State Highway Y contacted Police about a theft. The manager of the establishment stated a contract cleaning agent had taken a stack of currency valued at $33.25. Amanda L. Hill, 47, of Hughesville, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for both warrants.
