If you like looking at live reptiles or are considering buying one, the Sedalia Reptile Expo may be the perfect thing for you.

According to the Missouri State Fair's website, the Show Me Reptile Expo is scheduled for Jan. 25-26 from 10 to 3:30 daily at the Ag Building.

Cost to attend is $10 per person, $5 for kids ages 7-12 with a paid adult admission, and free for kids under five.

According to show organizers, “We’re bringing the ultimate reptile experience to town on January 25-26 for an exciting weekend you won’t want to miss. Explore dozens of amazing breeders showcasing reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, plants, aquatics, and so much more. Find all the supplies you need to keep your critters healthy and happy while connecting with a welcoming community of reptile lovers."

The show is a first for Sedalia and you can buy advanced tickets at showmereptileshow.com or at the door.

A special VIP ticket is available for $15, which allows you to enter the Ag Building one hour earlier at 9 a.m. (both days)

The thing about this show is, if you see a reptile you really want to take home with you, you can! Vendors will be selling their cold-blooded animals.

I'm not up to speed on city ordinances concerning owning an exotic animal within the city limits, so you might want to check on that before laying your money down.

The reptile show travels all over the US, according to organizers. They also posted some disclosures:

*Entry Fees are non-refundable and valid only for the show date purchased.
*Discounts for Active Military, Veterans, First Responders, & Educators require ID at the door and apply to that individual only.
*Due to potential changes with facilities, pricing may be adjusted at any time without notice.
*Check county/state laws before attending and adopting out any animal.

Show organizers discourage you from bringing your own pets to the exotic animal show.

Here's a list of vendors.

In addition to reptiles, there will also be exotic mammals, plants and aquatics at the two-day show, all presumably, for sale by the vendors.

Reptiles, as commonly defined, are a group of tetrapods with an ectothermic ('cold-blooded') metabolism and amniotic development. Living reptiles comprise four orders: Testudines (turtles), Crocodilia (crocodilians), Squamata (lizards and snakes), and Rhynchocephalia (the tuatara).

If you miss the show later this month, they will return July 12-13.
