Have you ever run out of deodorant or body wash and money has been a little tight so you've had to do without for a couple of days? For some of us that's a first world problem. We were careless with our budget. Or forgot to put the item on our store list. But for some in our community it's more of an every day, every week and every month struggle. And you can help by donating to the Sedalia Salvation Army's resource drive on Friday, February 26.

The Sedalia Salvation Army continues to need canned goods and non perishable food items for their food pantry that serves hundreds of Pettis County families each month. Additionally they're looking for a variety of hygiene items because many of their clients struggle to have the extra cash to get these items.

The Sedalia Salvation Army will take these items and assemble hygiene kits with the items listed below, or if you'd like, you can make the kits yourself and donate them to the Sedalia Salvation Army. Here is what the Sedalia Salvation Army needs for their hygiene kits:

  • Lotions
  • Personal soaps
  • Tampons / pads

  • Baby wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Toothbrushes
  • Shampoo

The Sedalia Salvation Army will be accepting these items as well as canned an non perishable food items for their food pantry at the Woods East parking lot, 701 East Broadway, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
