Event Combines ‘Things That Go’ With ‘Day at the Park’
Sedalia Parks & Recreation invites families to Liberty Park for the 12th Annual Things That “Go!” Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This exciting event is free and open to all ages. Kids and families will have the chance to climb, explore, and honk their way through a park full of trucks, emergency vehicles, construction machines, trains, and more. The event is combined with United Way of Pettis County's Day at the Park, which serves as a kickoff to this year's UW campaign.
Highlights of this year’s event include:
Mock emergency demonstration by Pettis County Call to Care
Free rides on Moore’s Trainhouse and the Liberty Land Train
Food trucks such as Dove Donuts, Local Eats & Sweets LLC, Kona Ice of West Jackson County, and OohWee Wings and Moore
Field Day games to support the kickoff of the 2025 United Way of Pettis County Campaign
Important Notes for Visitors:
Convention Hall Gym will be open with mock emergency demonstrations from Pettis County Call to Care.
No parking will be available in the Liberty Park Stadium lot due to a helicopter landing.
For safety, the main drive into Liberty Park will be one-way only until after the event.
Suggested parking is available at North side of Liberty Park, Liberty Pool and the south side of Convention Hall, Parks & Rec said.
Stop by the United Way table to pick up your passport—complete it for a chance to win a Heckart Community Center membership.
