On Saturday at 5:22 a.m., Pettis County deputies attempted a traffic stop at 765 Highway and US 65 on a driver who failed to stop at a stop sign and almost hit another vehicle traveling northbound.

The driver was identified as Samantha Kinner of Sedalia.

Kinner was a suspect in a property damage case that occurred in Sedalia at 102 East Johnson in which a car window was broken.

Kinner failed to stop, and deputies pursued her and she finally came to a stop at Hoard and Hurley.

Kinner was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

While at the jail, Kinner admitted to the booking staff that she lied during the booking process and admitted she ingested cocaine before stopping for the deputies.

Kinner was then transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for evaluation.
