Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy SUV at 24th and Montgomery Circle on Saturday at 5 a.m. for lane violations.

The officer attempted to stop the SUV at 24th and Ingram, but the vehicle fled from the area, and a low-speed pursuit ensued. Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, 36-year-old Eric Abraham of Sedalia, was arrested. Investigation revealed he was intoxicated and refused to cooperate with officers.

A blood draw search warrant was obtained and Abraham was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center to draw blood. The suspect tried to flee and had to be restrained.

The blood draw was completed and Abraham was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold with a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He was charged with DWI, resisting arrest and tampering with physical evidence. His court date is TBA.
