Here's a look at what's going on this weekend in our area. 

The Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration will be at Centennial Park on July 4. 

It’ll be held from 11:00 a.m.  to 4:00 p.m.  They’ll have a Downtown Parade at 10:00 a.m. They’ll have a picnic, games, music, and family fun.  If you want to sign up for the Parade or other information, call 826-5000 Ext 922.

The Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce will host a 4th of July Community Fireworks Celebration.

It’ll be held on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m.  The Smith Cotton Jazz Band will perform at 7:00 p.m., the Daughters of the American Revolution will do a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 7:15 p.m.  The Full Moon Band performs at 7:30 p.m. At 9:15 p.m.  a presentation will be given by VFW Post 2591.

The Golden Circle Horse Show Circuit  will host a horse show.

The objectives of the show are to encourage good sportsmanship and proper conduct among horsemen and to foster good fellowship of all persons interested in saddle horses, to promote the education in the care, use, handling and development of horses and horsemanship, to create, stimulate and maintain interest in saddle horses and horseback riding in communities in the Golden Circle area and to encourage proper and humane handling and care of horses, to prevent cruelty to animals.  This will take place on Saturday, July 5 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Coliseum of the Missouri State Fairgrounds.  Visit their website for more information.

The District FFA Show will be held during the Johnson County Fair. 

The District FFA Fair will begin with opening ceremonies, Youth Pageant, and coronations beginning at 6:00 p.m.  This will take place at the Johnson County Fairgrounds, 4 miles west of Warrensburg on Highway 50.
