State Fair Community College students placed in the top three spots in six categories at the National Professional Agriculture Students (PAS) conference that was held in March in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Seven SFCC agriculture students attended along with Brad Driskill, Agriculture program coordinator. They competed in contests designed to develop skills required by employers in the agriculture industry, attended workshops and a career fair, listened to speakers, and participated in mock interviews. SFCC brought home two first-place finishes, three second-places and one third-place. More than 400 students and instructors attended the national conference.

In addition to participating in all the conference activities, the students visited Two Harbors and did some sightseeing on the North Shores of Lake Superior. On the way to the conference, students toured the AgReliant Seed Corn Conditioning Plant in Ogden, Iowa, and the POET Ethanol Plant in Jewell, Iowa.

The National Professional Agricultural Student Organization is a student-led group that allows participants to build and sharpen their skills and prepares them to work in all areas of the agriculture industry.
