Friends and supporters of the State Fair Community College Athletic Department can participate in the 11th annual State Fair Community College Golf Tournament benefiting athletic scholarships.

The event will take place on Monday, July 25 at the Sedalia Country Club. The three-person scramble will cost $100 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and lunch.

Participants will have a choice of a morning or afternoon tee time. The morning group will tee off at 8 a.m., followed by the afternoon group at 2 p.m. The prizes for the golf tournament will be Sedalia Country Club Pro Shop credit.

The tournament will be divided into four flights, with the top four places in each flight winning pro shop credit, based on a full field.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals to support the event. Businesses can be the Title Sponsor of the event which costs $1,500. That package includes signage on the first hole and three team entries into the tournament.

The Putting Clock sponsorship is $750. It includes signage on the 10th hole and one team entry into the tournament. The Driving Range sponsorship costs $500. It includes signage on the driving range and one team entry into the tournament.

The Beverage Cart sponsorship costs $350 and includes signage on the beverage cart. Businesses and individuals can also purchase hole sponsorships which cost $100 and includes signage on the tee box.

Mulligans will also be available for purchase. There will be a putting contest for SFCC athletics gear and \ a hole with multiple pins.

Individual contributions in any amount are welcomed and appreciated. The proceeds from the event will go toward athletic scholarships. The men and women’s soccer teams’ scholarship is the Mike Bryson Memorial Scholarship. The women’s basketball team scholarship is the Bob Oehrke Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship for the men’s basketball team is the Kent Gwaltney Memorial Scholarship.

The baseball team’s scholarship is the Ross Dey Memorial Scholarship and the softball team’s scholarship is the Mandy Thomas Memorial Scholarship. There will also be a Women and Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Scholarship, Shooting Sports scholarship and eSports scholarship. SFCC athletics will also have a scholarship that will be used for all sports.

There will be live and silent auctions again this year, with the live auction starting 45 minutes after the afternoon round is finished. Please contact SFCC Athletics if you have an item or items that you would like to donate to either auction.

“In the silent auction, I would expect us to have different kinds of autographed sports memorabilia,” said Talbot. “I would also expect to see items from the athletic teams at SFCC. We also have different spa packages available for those in attendance to bid on.”
