Registration will take place towards the end of the month for the next High School Equivalency (HSE) classes at State Fair Community College and several satellite locations.

SFCC says registration will take place March 26 - 30 in Sedalia and at sites in Appleton City, Boonville, Clinton, Richmond, Osceola, Warrensburg, Warsaw, and Windsor.

SFCC’s Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program can provide individualized and group instruction for anyone who wants to develop or improve skills in language arts, reading, math, social studies, or science toward taking the HSE exam, formerly known as the GED.

Enrollment for HSE day class will be held from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. March 26-30, with night class enrollment from 6:00 -9:00 March 26-29 in Yeater Learning Center, Room 163.

HSE classes are free, but students must enroll in person and complete an orientation before attending class.

SFCC’s AEL program also offers free day and evening classes to help those for whom English is not their first language and for those who wish to become U. S. citizens.

Enrollment for the daytime English Language Learners (ELL) class will take place from noon - 3:00 p.m. March 27-29 at the Celebration Center, located at 1701 W. 32 St.

Enrollment for the evening ELL class will be from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Yeater Learning Center, Room 168 during the same dates.

In addition, SFCC says that AEL provides free opportunities to brush up on reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and language arts to reach personal learning goals, or prepare for college-level courses or placement exams. The program can offer individualized lessons and one-on-one instruction.
